    <title>Housing Officer Temporary Accommodation</title>

&lt;p&gt;We are offering an opportunity to join the &lt;strong&gt;Housing Services&lt;/strong&gt; as a &lt;strong&gt;Housing Officer Temporary Accommodation.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Role&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This role is key to supporting households placed in temporary accommodation and ensuring placements are well managed. You’ll provide housing management services, liaise with providers, and work closely with colleagues, partners, and clients to ensure people are supported while their longer-term housing options are explored.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Key aspects include:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Managing temporary accommodation placements, ensuring suitability and safeguarding responsibilities are met.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Supporting clients with benefit claims, arrears, disputes, and other issues affecting their stay.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Carrying out property inspections and liaising with providers to maintain standards.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Working with clients who may have complex needs and ensuring placements are sustained where possible.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Contributing to service targets and continuous improvement.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is a &lt;strong&gt;primarily office-based role&lt;/strong&gt; at Muriel Matters House.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;About You&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We are looking for a colleague with:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Experience in social housing or a related field.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Knowledge of housing legislation, housing benefit processes, and issues surrounding homelessness.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Strong communication, case management, and IT skills.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The ability to work flexibly, manage a varied caseload, and remain resilient under pressure.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We are ideally looking to recruit someone who is experienced and technically competent in all aspects of Environmental Health, and particularly in Environmental Protection. You will need to be an excellent communicator and happy to embrace a more generic approach to delivering services in our historic seaside town. We changed the way we deliver our services by combining Environmental Health and Licensing into a single generic Team.&amp;nbsp; This has helped us offer a more effective and flexible service for residents and businesses, as well as providing a more rewarding range of work for officers.&lt;/p&gt;

There’s also the added opportunity to participate in our emergency out of hours on call service, which attracts a standby payment of £10,154.88 per annum. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient processing and reconciliation of financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support continual service improvement. You will be responsible for team management, performance monitoring, and ensuring compliance with audit and statutory requirements – all while providing excellent internal and external customer service.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;AAT Level 4 or equivalent qualifications&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Proven experience managing teams in a transactional finance setting&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Strong knowledge of Excel and financial systems (experience with Unit 4 Business World is desirable)&lt;/li&gt;
